Wouldn’t that be big news in the US? Of course it would, because it would be Israel that’s being attacked, and that is always big news in the US, though usually it’s a dinky rocket that lands in the middle of nowhere. It would no doubt be portrayed as a terrorist attack and as further evidence of the “existential” threat Israel faces.
But in this case, the story actually reads, “Latest Israeli bombing plunges Gaza into darkness.” The fact that this is not huge news in the US, as it clearly would be with the reverse headline, says everything about the corporate media depicts the conflict.
A Google search of “Israeli bombing Gaza darkness” produced only one American news source, The Huffington Post, while there were two British, one Israeli (Ha’aretz), and plenty of Arab/Palestinian sources.
